About Halloween Hop
Halloween is an experience that every child should be able to enjoy. That’s what inspired the creation of Halloween Hop.
As a nonprofit, we provide speech therapy to children through play, individual, and group therapy. A majority of the kids we serve struggle with communication or sensory processing, making typical social settings stressful or overwhelming. We wanted to provide a fun, sensory-friendly event where families can dress up, enjoy free activities, and reinforce the language and social skills they’re learning in therapy.
Proceeds will support the ongoing work at Columbus Speech & Hearing to provide critical speech and hearing services that so many people rely on but struggle to afford.
Activities
Fun, safe and not-too-loud activities include:
- Silent magician experienced in working with children with diverse abilities
- Storytellers sharing seasonal tales
- Hands-on musical instrument room
- Halloween-themed crafts led by our speech-language pathologists and volunteers
- Free family portraits
- Dietary restriction-friendly treats
- Quiet sensory room for families who need a break
- And so much more!
