Summary
The Clinical Audiologist will provide diagnostic audiologic services and aural rehabilitation/habilitation, including amplification and counseling to children and adults within the Center and outside the Center. The clinical audiologist may also provide group aural rehabilitation therapy for adventitiously hearing-impaired adults or for those individuals obtaining amplification through our Hearing Aid Program.
Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities
- Act as a case manager for those patients to whom he or she has been assigned
- May organize and conduct community consumer educational or aural rehabilitation seminars at the Center and outside the Center
- Will carry out policies and procedures as described in the Audiology Policies and Procedures
- Shall accept responsibility for special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Audiology as time allows (public relations work, speaking engagements, in-services, donor hearing aid program, etc.).
- Will be available for patient appointments during regularly scheduled clinic hours.
- Will attend general staff meetings, continuing education training and participate in at least one Center volunteer activity every year.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- The clinical audiologist shall minimally hold an audiology Clinical Doctorate
- Experience working with Pediatrics.
Licensure/Certification
- The clinical audiologist must hold or be actively working toward obtaining license in Audiology from the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Cochlear Implants.
- Educational audiology.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, must be able to sit on the floor to interact with young children for extended periods of time, and must be able to move efficiently and quickly from one position to another.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not supervise staff. They do have the opportunity to work with graduate students.
Work Environment
This position is held in a clinical setting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; Clinic hours and days are Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m.
