I started receiving services from Columbus Speech & Hearing when my family suspected hearing issues when I was two years old and it has made a huge impact on me and my family’s life. I have had the same audiologist, Dr. Ann Wheat, since the first appointment to test my hearing. I am now 31 years old and recently diagnosed with Usher Syndrome, a form of deaf-blindness. Dr. Wheat has been amazing to my family, and I. Columbus Speech & Hearing have always been very compassionate and caring. I have lived outside of Columbus before and dreaded having to see a different audiologist from another facility. With the help of Columbus Speech & Hearing and other professionals, I have learned how to listen and communicate effectively. CSH is always going to be my #1.
When I was a child, I enjoyed getting my hearing tested and activating the toys, bells, and lights as a reward for cooperating with the test. The kindness shown to me during those moments made me feel like I belonged and that I was genuinely cared for, creating some of my fondest memories.
