This month our staff spotlight is Shelley Gabriel! Shelley has a B.S. Hearing & Speech Sciences from Ohio University & a Masters Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of San Francisco. In her three years at Columbus Speech & Hearing (CSH), Shelley was hired as an Executive/Development Assistant but has become a significant force in our Development Department as a Grant Writer. The power of her pen has brought in a substantial amount of support for our speech and audiology services.
Shelley’s background in Speech-Language Pathology brought her to CSH where she could connect the dots between her education and 25 years of non-profit service. Shelley says, “Writing grants to support the speech/language/ and audiology programs at CSH has been a dream come true!”
In her spare time, you can find Shelley enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Joey. She enjoys gardening, photographing flowers, kayaking, and taking long walks on her family’s farm near Galena. “I spent my childhood summers with my maternal and paternal grandparents in Sunbury and Galena, and I still love spending time out there.”
